Convergence NYC 2010:
April 16 & 17 at the Center for Architecture

 

Convergence: NYC is an annual networking event that brings together emerging architects, architecture students, and established designers from some of the most exciting design firms in New York. The opening reception will take place at The Mohawk Group showroom on Friday, 4/16. Firm tours, a panel discussion, and the closing reception at the Center for Architecture will take place on Saturday, 4/17.

OFFICE TOURS

A diverse range of prominent and emerging design firms open their doors to students for studio tours and candid talks about recent projects. Participating firms include: HOK, KPF, Grimshaw, Situ Studios, Architecture in Formation, Populous, Beyer Blinder Belle, Caples Jefferson, So-il, Gage Clemenceau, Studio Daniel Libeskind, Mancini Duffy.

PANEL DISCUSSION

The panel discussion at the Center for Architecture will be moderated by Martin Pederson, Executive Editor of Metropolis Magazine, and geared towards exploring the ways architects are creatively changing the way they practice and the catalysts for these changes. Panelists include Bradley Samuels, Situ Studios; Thomas Knittel, HOK; Debra Pothier, Autodesk.

Fallingwater Retreat 2010

April 9th to 11th 

The University of Pittsburgh is hosting its 2010 Fallingwater weekend retreat. All AIAS members and non-members are welcome to participate in this event. We will be touring the Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater and Kentuck Knob, then camping over-night in Ohio Pyle State Park. If interested, please contact us at nycctaias@gmail.com.
